Who We Are

Founded in Montgomery County, Maryland, American Diversity Group (ADG) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals from immigrant, minority, and underserved backgrounds. Our work bridges critical service gaps through free weekend clinics, preventive screenings, wellness programs, and digital and financial literacy education.

We focus on empowering every generation — from children receiving backpacks to seniors engaging in health and wellness sessions — with the tools and support they need to thrive.

Founder, Executive Director

Mayur Mody

As a first generation immigrant and health management professional, Mr. Mody has first hand experience of health disparities when language and cultural barriers hinder communication and access to health services. Thus, eliminating health disparity is both professional and personal passion for Mr. Mody.

Meet Desai is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, serving business owners, individuals, and families in the Baltimore area. He helps clients manage wealth, reduce taxes, protect assets, support heirs, and give charitably—using a consultative approach to align strategies with their core values and goals.

Nagarajan Pattabiraman

Nagarajan Pattabiraman, fondly known as ‘Nags,’ is a software professional working with the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. An immigrant from India, he is passionate about community service, bringing people together, and promoting harmonious co-existence. He enjoys meeting people and spending time with his family.

Board Advisor

Sandra Marrero Ashford, MPH, MPA,MA

Sandra Marrero Ashford brings deep public health expertise to the American Diversity Group board as CEO and architect of the Health Betterment Initiative (HBI). She holds a Master of Public Health in Public Health Policy and Community Health with a certificate in epidemiology from Eastern Virginia Medical School, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master’s in Acquisition and Procurement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as an operations manager, working closely with local health departments on the frontline pandemic response. Her experience building and leading HBI from the ground up gives her a firsthand understanding of the operational and strategic challenges community clinics face, insight she brings directly to her role as a board adviser. That experience has reinforced her conviction that community clinics like American Diversity Group are an essential piece of the solution to health disparities and equitable access to care.

Food Distribution Program (2020 – Present):

➤ 6 million pounds of food distributed to families in need, with year-round support and culturally appropriate groceries.

➤ 3,000+ patients served with no-cost primary care, screenings, and specialty services since the clinic's inception.

➤ Distributed over 10,000 toys during December holidays across the past 5 years, bringing joy to children in underserved communities.

Back-to-School Program:

➤ Donated 10,000 backpacks and supplies over 5 years, empowering students and families during the academic year kickoff.

Medical Internship Pathways:

➤ 8 interns who volunteered with ADG have successfully been accepted into medical schools, illustrating our investment in future healthcare leaders.
